Re: Carter Lake singletrack and gravel roads?

Hi Mike,

I have not ridden any of these rides.  I am interested in getting myself back into Mountain Biking though.   I need to get some good training in to start with you guys but perhaps we can ride together soon.   I am also interested in a winter ride destination since I have failed to attend any of the others.   Glad the ride on Old Flowers was good.  I drove the boys back from Fort Lewis yesterday and the weather chased me all the way home :-)

Anybody have experience w/the 3-mile-ish singletrack along the west side of Carter Lake? Looks rocky and somewhat shaded, making me wonder if it might be a good winter track.

Bonus points: Similar question for any of the dirt/gravel roads in the same area -- Chimney Hollow Road, Rainbow Lane, etc.?

Old Flowers was excellent (by fat bike) yesterday. The fires have dramatically altered the views along the western half of the route. It still starts in the trees, but once the road leaves the drainage the views are now 360 in many spots. The good with the bad.

Happy riding.

Mike
