Welcome to the group.
I have a Garmin 610 and love it. It's easy to use and it has a touch screen which works well for me (even in rain and snow and when I wear gloves). One of its features (that the other models don't have - although I'm not sure of the 910) is the vibration alert which I like on my long runs. Also, the garmin connect website is pretty good and I use it as part of my training log. I've even taken my Garmin on hikes and when walking around Washington DC and other places where I ended up walking a lot.
I am not familiar with Timex watches.
Good luck.

D. LeoSorry that has taken so long to get back to you.The Garmin GPS or Timex GPS are the best out there. They both have several lines which offer lots of options. It really starts with what you want to use the GPS for. The Garmin ForeRunner 10 is a great entry level GPS. The top of the line Garmin is the 910. That is great for Triathletes.Check out the websits for both GARMIN and TIMEX and go through the different options and models.Sam
