Re: Route suggestions for Strava's 79-mile challenge

If we have to stay close: Wellington, Greeley, home.
If we want to stay on flat: Burger in Boulder.
Nebraska, seriously.

MTB ride: Buckhorn to Pingree, back via Poudre.
MTB ride: Gravel roads in Pawnee Grassland.

Just some ideas. We better wait for a reliable weather forecast before we decide.

So, looking for a good 79+ route for that weekend. Anybody have a favorite?

We're not sure if it has to be a continuous ride, or if we're ok stopping for lunch, catching a tan, etc. and then carrying on.

A loop or out-and-back is most practical, but I'm open to one-way trips if we can tack on a dinner or something to tempt a spouse or friend out to drag our sorry selves back home after. Klaus mentioned riding to Nebraska...perhaps Pine Bluffs, WY and then dart across the Nebraska line and back to Pine Bluffs for dinner? About a century there.

Depending on snow we also talked about riding to Pingree Park and back, something I did one-way (down from Pingree) this summer:

So -- suggest your favorite route or something you've wanted to try and please feel free to join for the ride, Strava or not.
