Safeway Reloadable Gift Cards - available at booster meeting

I was asked at the last booster meeting to look into getting Safeway reloadable gift cards.  I have looked into this and this student fundraiser has been approved by the board.  So this is now a student fundraiser option as well.

 

I will have Safeway reloadable gift cards available at the booster meeting this Tuesday and at the end of band camps (Wed & Thurs).  This is similar to the King Soopers reloadable cards, with a couple of differences.

1.       The initial card has $10 pre-loaded. 

2.       The percentage is a 3-tiered discount and varies from 3 to 5% depending upon the organization’s purchases for the month.  In order to hit 5% or $5 for every $100 spent, the organization as a whole needs to spend $5000 or more.  Which looking at King Soopers purchases, this is attainable.  The initial month getting this set up, may be a little bit lower, however I see this hitting 5% after the first couple of months. This is completely a student fundraiser, you will get credited for the entire percentage as approved by the board.

3-Tier Discount – Purchases combined of the entire organization

• $200 - $2,499 – 3% (If less than $200 reloaded, rolls over & accumulates with the next period reloads.)
• $2,500 - $4,999 – 4%
• $5,000 and over – 5%

 

The way the Reloadable program works is:

 

Each bearer of the $10 card can then reload (add value to) their card, up to a total of $500, at any store PRIOR to checking out their purchases, in a SEPARATE TRANSACTION.  In another transaction, right after reloading the card, the supporter may use the gift card in payment for purchases.

 

At the end of Safeway’s four week accounting cycle, I will receive a statement detailing all reloads by gift card number.  I will then divide up to each specific student account.  This statement will be a little behind in hitting to your student’s account, due to this process.

 

CONSIDERATIONS FOR YOUR ORGANIZATION & SUPPORTERS USE OF RELOADABLE GIFT CARDS:

1.     Reloading a gift card can be done at the Customer Service Desk or at a Register, however, if you want to use the reloaded gift card to pay for your purchases, THE RELOAD MUST BE IN A SEPARATE TRANSACTION PRIOR TO YOUR GROCERIES BEING SCANNED.

2.     I will keep records of which card goes to each student account.

3.     You cannot purchase reloadable gift cards at the stores.  They will not be linked to the organization.  A new card must be purchased from Karen Langan.

4.     Safeway Reloadable Gift Cards can be used for our Gift Card Mall in the stores, postage stamps, FUEL and event sales.  They may not be used for Money Orders, Western Union, Lottery tickets or Reloadable Visa & Mastercards.

5.     Involve other family members and neighbors in the reloadable gift cards, this helps your student account accumulate quicker.

 

 

I know this is a lot of information.  So please feel free to ask me any questions.  If you would like a reloadable card, please contact me to hold one or two for you or find me during the booster meeting.  I have pre-ordered 25 cards to get us started for Tuesday, and can order more. I have to initially pay for these, so I didn’t order too many.  If you would like cards for other family members or neighbors, I can order these after the booster meeting in another order and get to you. The turnaround time for the order is usually 2 days. There is a minimum of 20 cards that I can order at a time. So if I run out, I will take names and the amount of cards needed and place one big order.
